Our Programs
We offer various lunchtime and after school programs at a school site or community site. We develop programs to address the needs of the specific site. We also provide tutoring services in the home, school or other community site.
Mentoring
We provide mentoring programs and training for students and their mentors on a variety of topics including: Role modeling & mentoring, communication, cultural awareness, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, values, setting goals & planning, problem solving and career development.
Summer Programs
“Expand Your World” program provides a variety of schema building activities. They include: cultural awareness, self-awareness and the arts, leadership training, along with a writer’s workshop and study skills.
After School Program Services
Encourage Tomorrow offers an array of high-quality after school program services geared towards facilitating school efforts. Our programs focus on improving student’s attitudes toward school, their work and personal habits, as well as their attendance and academic achievement. Students who participate in our programs discover their passions and talents, and begin to make the connection between hard work and moving on to higher education and careers.
The services we provide fall under three categories: Student, Family and School Services:
Student Services
- Tutorial Services: free and fee-based community and home-based tutorial services in the areas of Math, Reading, Writing and Homework.
- After School Activities: standards-aligned, hands-on enrichment programs in fine and performing arts, music, science, math, health and nutrition.
- Mentoring: cross-age mentoring program that provide training for students and their mentors on a variety of topics including: role modeling, communication, cultural awareness, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, values, goal setting, planning, problem solving and career development.
- College Readiness: a cultural, college prep year-long program for middle and high school students that helps them answer three main questions, Who Am I?, Where Am I Going? And How do I get there? Students create high school and college road maps and make college campus visits.
Family Resources
- Free & Fee-Based Tutoring: free and fee-based community and home-based tutorial services in the areas of Math, Reading, Writing and Homework.
- Financial Literacy: workshops developed to address money saving tips, planning a family budget, teaching our children to be financially independent, and saving and investing for the future.
- Job Skills Training: workshops developed to address job searching techniques, creating a star resume, interviewing techniques and soft skills training.
- Family University: workshops developed to address navigation of their child’s school system, going back to school, and family resources available in the community.
School Services
- After School Program Management: full-site management of after school program including staffing, personnel training and certification, on-going staff development for homework, academics and enrichment sessions, supply purchasing, data management and organization for CPM compliance.
- Sports Management: recruitment, hiring and professional development of football, volleyball, cross-country, track, basketball, wrestling, softball and baseball coaches for elementary and middle schools.
- Family Literacy: workshops that provide interactive literacy activities between parents and their children; training for parents regarding how to be the primary teacher for their children and full partners in the education of their children; and parent literacy training that leads to economic self-sufficiency.
- Hands-on Learning Activities: standards-aligned, hands-on enrichment programs in fine and performing arts, music, science, math, health and nutrition.
