Program Development:
Encourage Tomorrow Cultural Programs – program provides gender and ethnic specific programs for underserved youth in the Central Valley. The programs include cultural issues/awareness, career development, leadership skills, teen pregnancy prevention, suicide prevention/stress management, sexual harassment, self-esteem, decision making skills, health and nutrition, drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention, gang prevention, anger and conflict management. The programs are: Mariposa for Hispanic Females, Encuentros for Hispanic Males, Images for African American females and Visions for African American Males. Asian and Native American programs are in the developmental stages.
Hoover High Mentoring Program –Program provides mentor/mentee training, Partners: Hoover High School, Ahwahnee and Tioga Middle Schools, and Holland, Robinson, Thomas, Vinland and Wolters Elementary Schools. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Fresno CORAL – Program provides literacy-based performing arts and cultural awareness to at-risk elementary school children. Partners: United Way, One by One Leadership and approximately 14 other community based organizations. Funded by The James Irvine Foundation.
GEAR Up – “Expand Your World” program provides middle school children with a variety of schema building activities. They include: cultural awareness, self-awareness and the arts, leadership training, along with a writer’s workshop and study skills.
Supplemental Educational Services – No Child Left Behind – program provides tutoring for students from kindergarten through twelfth grades.
